About This Book
Ringbound is a complete martial class for 5e-compatible fantasy roleplaying, built for players who want to control the fight without relying on armor, spellcasting, or oversized weapon damage. A Ringbound is a champion of weight, balance, contest, and claimed ground. Where fighters master weapons and monks master motion, the Ringbound masters the space between bodies. They break enemy momentum, interrupt movement, protect nearby allies, and make dangerous foes deal with them first. The class is built around Balance, a renewable resource used to brace against forced movement, drive enemies across the battlefield, break their footing, lock them into a clinch, and weather attacks that would put a lesser warrior down. Its signature Claim Focus feature lets the Ringbound seize an enemy’s attention, punish attempts to disengage, and make attacking anyone else a costly mistake. As the Ringbound advances, raw physical presence grows into something nearly mythic. The class becomes harder to move, capable of controlling increasingly massive enemies, and eventually able to declare the surrounding battlefield as its personal ring. This is not a class designed to chase the highest damage total. It is designed to hold the line, shape enemy choices, and keep the rest of the party alive long enough to win. Five Subclass Paths provide distinct approaches to ringcraft: The Path of the Driving Palm drives, herds, and scatters enemy formations. The Path of the Iron Clinch seizes opponents, denies escape, and turns close combat into a cage. The Path of the Salt Bearer marks sacred ground, protects allies, and makes crossing the line carry a price. The Path of the Thunder Hand breaks rhythm and courage through concussive, battlefield-shaking force. The Path of the Turning Step redirects attacks, manipulates position, and lets enemy momentum become its own punishment. Ringbound is for players who want to be the wall the enemy cannot ignore, the hand that decides where the fight happens, and the last person still standing when the dust settles. The Ringbound is the line.
